dare i say each patchie show gets better and better? yes, i dare. last sunday in santa ana we had our final show of 2010, in the streets of santa ana. no rain, but those of you who were there can attest to the incredible invasive gusts of wind. it took down our entrance tent and sorrowfully led to vendors having one hand on their pop-up tents... but we tough crafters made it through and most of us even kept smiling. big thanks to everyone who made the day possible and braved the elements....
highlights from the santa ana show...
these garden stakes were so rad... and when i went back to buy one... they were SOLD OUT!
i LOVE madien voyage-- i'm always pimping their tees (and subeco's too) to any dudes i know or anyone buying a dude a gift
le modern trinket had one of my fav jewelry displays-- and owner christina was so rad... at the end of the show she helped me & the interns assisting vendors with taking down their tents, christina practically packed up kelsey's (kelso doesn't dance) whole booth... patchwork vendors = unselfish!
if you don't know who this is yet... then look her up asap! this is aileen holmes... crafty artist/designer extrordinairre... she will be taking over as i retire from designing the patchwork postcards...
melissa loschy's stuff is always morphing into something fresh, but it always has the feeling behind it, in the best way. i wanted her deer necklace so so bad!
awesome cards int he harvey's lot
our very own eva of stella neptune, now famous from her appearance on martha stewart... i couldn't resist getting 2 of her sweaters since i live in the bay area now... it's freezing... and they are so so warm!
brooke of not quite vintage made these hilarious gingerbread men ornaments with bites taken out of them.
must love dogs, snazzy boys and tiny toddler boy blazers
love nail tree's booth was a madhouse... of course. they witnessed my psychic ability guessing birthdays.
debbie of taxi cdc's colorful reworked vintage designs
i NEEDED pretty much all of these cards but especially the one that says "you are what you craft"
i'm so disappointed in myself for not making it into the raddest photo booth EVER!
luckily jeremy made it out to dj... we do love us some jeremy tunes! he was our official music coordinator and he rocked!!
what craft show could be complete without 2 sassy dudes offering free bike tune ups and keeping an eye on your bike while you shop? not patchwork!
the OC weekly, our trusty sponsor!
the harvey's didn't have a booth BUT the whole family came out to support the show
nice crowds throughout the day
the houses on the street got into it this year... setting up art, music and tees.
this is karyn of classic hardware- talented, lovely, hard-working, funny, optimistic...
INTERN SPOTLIGHT
we had a great presence from current and former patchie interns at the show. without these unsung heros the show would absolutely not be possible or run smoothly... and they do it all for the love of creativity!
these three seriously rocked the entrance tables!!!
estacia has helped at several shows but is taking some off because she's about to be a mom!
you kind of can't help but fall in love with drury... he just shows up and takes awesome pictures and loves his patchwork apron so much that he wears it when he's not at patchwork. when i ran into him at patchwork santa ana, even though he wasn't on the schedule he took it upon himself to offer bathroom breaks and water to vendors! SERIOUSLY! here's a link to his flicker if you want to see REALLY good photos from the shows in santa ana and long beach.
former intern danielle... the cuteness factor of her baby is off the charts!!!
THAT'S IT! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL IN THE SPRING!
very happy to read your blog.
Thanks for sharing this nice post.I will keep your article in my idea.
