about a week ago i returned from my little trip east... hello & goodbye to salem, boston & new york city. lots of family affairs, getting to be a passenger instead of driver, really good thin crust pizza, snow, snow, snow, letting go of nasty habits, board games, feeling a little older, lobster, steak tips, snow-tubing, back scratchin', surprise parties, so many warm welcomes... and if you know me, you know my current obsession: fried clams... so there were some of those as well.
the whole belly fried clams... these were in boston at B & G oysters but honestly the ones in salem at dube's were the BEST.
deanna & i tour brookline- home of the mad russian
on the way to the highway from boston to salem...
my artsy fartsy skills were highly praised after i whipped up these birthday cakes
i could hardly believe my eyes... so beautiful
deanna sat in on my soy candle making class before we left and made over a dozen candles as party favors for her grandmother's 85th birthday. she drew the original artwork on each and every one!
snowstorm around midnight the night before we left...

i'm happy be back in california and the rain gives me a great excuse to stay in, watch movies & craft!
