the long awaited opening of paige wery’s artshow was last Saturday night… the show was amazing. Paige’s gaudily (is that a word?) beautiful highly personal and thought provoking art filled leora’s gallery. Her pieces are built from the things of her life… paint scraps, empty paint tubes, photographs, excepts from her sketchbooks, torn pages from art books, holiday lights, tschokes, craft store and thrift store finds --- everything came together to create this incredible body of work. she even has one of her sketchbooks on a shelf and you can pick out and then rip out and take home the page of your choice for only $40-i did! I strongly urge everyone who reads this to get in their cars and drive to silverlake to check out the show-it will be up for another few weeks.
